At La Prairie we are committed to playing a small part in safeguarding the planet for future generations. We ask you to do the same when you are here.
* We protect our flora and fauna both on La Prairie and everywhere, by putting all rubbish where it should be.
* All rubbish is recycled, papers, glasses, plastic - we have suitable bins to make this easy for you.
* Compost all organic waste (we have suitable compost heaps for you to use)
* Electricity plays a huge part in polluting the planet, we ask you to switch lights and other electric equipment off if you are not in the room. Teach your children now to switch the lights off behind them and it will be a job well done on behalf of planet Earth! Keeping the lights switched off in our Gites then helps us to keep the Gite prices down for you each year!
* Where possible all our Gites have low voltage light bulbs and 'A' rated white goods
* Do not buy huge excesses of food and drink only to throw it all away when it has passed it's sell-by date
* Try to buy food from local sources... and Organic or 'Bio' in French
* Use Biological or Natural cleaning products, we use only White Vinegar, Soda and Lemon for cleaning and leave some supplies 'ready mixed' for you to use in the cottages.
* Gites are well insulated - making the need for heating smaller.
